After a great start to the year delivering a succession of events for both existing and brand new clients, 2017 began with a bang. As the seasons changed and the weather improved (kind of), the diary continued to swell.
When it rains, it pours, and with more than a dozen events in May, ranging from small scale business updates and staff briefings to high profile awards dinners and Fashion shows, the HGA technical team had their work cut out.
With events taking place in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, London and even as far as Amsterdam, we utilized our extensive AV stock to deliver flawless technical solutions across the board. Employing our vast library of Set panels and set options also meant we could provide exciting, bespoke backdrops with character for each client.
In London, we had the opportunity to deliver a 2 day Fashion show and business update for Debenhams at the landmark Roundhouse venue. Using the venue’s space and character, we produced a breath taking event utilizing large LED screen technology and impressive light shows. With a bespoke, white gloss Cat walk and a 12m LED wall, the project was ambitious and had exactly the breath-taking, cutting edge impact the client needed to deliver their new, forward thinking strategy.
Over 60 Source 4 profiles ensured the models and presenters were lit perfectly and an upstage row of a dozen Martin Mac Vipers with 16 Flying Clay Paky K10s made it possible to create spectacular, animated Lighting states.
A positive of working in such a great venue is having the peace of mind knowing that the in-house techs are on hand and are at the top of their game. Utilizing their L Acoustics K1 PA and supplementing the venue’s rig made for a smooth positive experience for all involved.
At the start of the month we produced a great event for The Hyde Group at the Brighton Convention Centre. Hyde housing are an Award-winning home provider and this year we delivered their Annual ‘All Staff Conference’ for around 1000 delegates. We proposed and executed a contemporary, eye catching set design. With set panel contours highlighted with LED strip lights, over a dozen hanging banners, a large 16:9 Front projection screen and the finishing touch of a Game-show style sliding door (tonight Michael, I will be….) the set was a huge talking point and exceeded the client’s expectations.
A busy calendar is nothing new to the technical team and we love nothing more than solving the logistical jigsaw that comes with multiple events (pretty sad, I know…). One of the major challenges when faced with a month like this is in the finer detail, ensuring that even the smallest event receives the same level of attention as the largest– something we take great pride in and always deliver, no matter how busy the diary is.
With many more projects on the Horizon and a roster of clients that continues to grow, it’s safe to say that the Live events team have an exciting summer ahead.
