Travelodge Conference 2017

The Challenge

Having delivered very successful annual conferences for Travelodge in 2015 and 2016, when we were approached to deliver the event again in 2017, the challenge was to take the existing venue, The ICC, and to shake up the format and create a step change, with fresh, exciting new content.

Our brief for 2017 was to motivate and inspire colleagues to drive change from within, so that each delegate would leave the event with a clear understanding of the importance of the part they play in Building the Favourite Hotel for Value.

Creating the extraordinary

We delivered a greater focus than ever on ensuring excellent content and presenter delivery, with pre-event speaker coaching workshops and regular presenter consultations – resulting in delegate feedback that confirmed attendees clearly understood the messages and left motivated and inspired.

Lively main stage plenary presentations with giant fruit machines and colleague sing-alongs  were interspersed with smaller, more intimate breakout sessions to keep the day feeling varied and fast paced. Breakouts were specifically targeted to provide the audience with practical skills to take back to their teams, focusing on key topics such as recruitment, training and time management.

The emphasis on the importance of each individual was further reflected with a glamourous evening awards ceremony to recognise the hard work of colleagues throughout the business. We completely transformed the room for the evening with our impactful theming  and bespoke ‘Roomies’ branding, delivering the ceremony ‘in the round’ to put the presenters and winners at the heart of the proceedings. Guests enjoyed a fantastic evening, rounded off with a live band and dancing.
