Our events range from conferences, awards presentations and gala dinners to team building and brand activations. All our events are backed up by in-house AV, event technology, venue sourcing, video production and creative services all under the same roof with some support from external partners as required. We have seen unprecedented growth over the last 12 months and have tripled our Preston warehouse in that period to create a 7,500 sq ft facility, able to deliver our strategy of investing in our own set and staging capabilities as well as expanding our audio-visual resources and our staff numbers. As part of that strategy we have a vacancy for a new role within our events team – an Events Facilities Manager.
The right candidate will have the experience and vision to maximise the potential of this facility and we expect that they will be steeped in the events industry and is looking for a role that is office based rather than on the road.
The role will be multifaceted and includes:
- Preparation of AV/ Events equipment prior to despatch and reception of that equipment when returning from an event. This may require the co-ordination if equipment hired in from third parties to supplement our own resources.
- Introduction and implementation of a planned scheduled maintenance programme for all equipment. (Please note we do not anticipate the manager being able to do all the maintenance themselves.)
- We use the facility to explore the potential of our equipment to deliver innovative technology solutions and so it would be advantageous to have a background in the operation of sound, light or vision.
- A key element of our growth strategy is an increase in our capabilities to build the sets and stages that we design in-house but currently outsource. The successful candidate will oversee this facility, ensuring that the high quality of presentation that we are known for continues or increases.
Whilst the ability to work within a team is a must, so too is the capacity to work independently, as our events production team are usually based in our Manchester office which you will be required to visit from time to time. The role demands the ability to work on different projects of various scales at the same time often to short deadlines. You will need to be an excellent communicator, focused on detail, and commercially aware ensuring that our events producers and technical staff have the information they need in a timely way and the confidence that what they agree to deliver to our clients is provided by you.
