Here are just some of our favourites…
An enormous industrial space with endless potential for all sorts of events. This old warehouse turned events venue has versatility, atmosphere, rustic charm and deep roots in Manchester’s history. The space can be hired individually or collectively to suit your event.
The Monastery is a shrouded in gothic architecture and has been lovingly saved from dereliction by charitable trusts and the local community. It is a flexible and unique space only 10 minutes from Manchester City Centre that offers multiple break out rooms hosting numbers from 10 to 450 people.
The Principal boasts beautiful Victorian architecture and is full of hidden spaces. Renamed from The Palace Hotel as part of a £25m refurbishment last year it has retained it’s iconic Mancunian tiling inside and out. A variety of events spaces are available, from private boardrooms to the largest hotel ballroom in the North West, enabling this venue to offer great flexibility and bags of charm.
Although Event City is far from a historical icon in Manchester’s heritage, this modern and purpose-built event space does meet the needs of large-scale corporate occassions, accomodating anything from exhibitions and festivals to theme parks and gala dinners. It is the second largest event space outside of London with a vast total floor space of 28,000m² and is in a great location for accommodation, travel links and facilities.
The Albert Hall
No, not that one. Manchester’s own Albert Hall. If you’ve ever been to this magnificent venue you’ll agree, it’s breath-taking, ornate stained-glass windows make a very unique backdrop for any occasion! Once a chapel that has been lovingly restored by TROF (the company behind Gorilla and The Deaf Institute) and now boasts up to 1,700 standing capacity or 400 cabaret.
Another heritage property showcasing grand architecture and great space. With multiple different spaces available the cathedral is a unique venue for any size event and can sit up to 940 for a dinner with a difference. The catering is traditional yet contemporary and the acoustics are excellent, they even boast that there’s no need for a microphone!
The !Audacious Conferencing centre came about when a small church group out-grew their facilities and needed space for over 1,000 people! This venue was discovered and refurbished and is now available to hire for all kinds of events from small meetings, to concerts and exhibitions. The high-quality finish of this venue makes it a great choice if you’re looking for a modern, versatile space.
Imperial War Museum North
An iconic and contemporary building on our neighbouring city of Salford’s Quayside. Although these conference facilities showcase parts of our great history the venue itself is modern, flexible and offers a great use of space. The high curved ceiling and the 360-degree cinematic experience offer the potential to be highly memorable – you can project anything you like onto every surface.
How’s this for different? This air hanger was built as a final resting place for the Concorde G-BOAC, an iconic flag-ship for British Airway’s fleet. The impressive setting now offers space for a multitude of events, including exhibitions, dinners and weddings, all set under the wings of this magnificent feat of engineering.
The Studio is ideal if you’re looking for a modern, vibrant space to hold your meeting or conference. It’s close to all transport links and boasts 10 diverse meeting spaces varying in size from 10 to 200 people capacity. They also offer a “retro style classroom” which is fully self-contained with a kitchen, front door and the all important treat station.
A purpose-built conference centre within the Museum of Science & Industry is an imaginative way to bring personality to your event. A variety of spaces can occupy up to 300 guests and the most impressive option is to dine in the Revolution Gallery and Power Hall, giving guests the opportunity to sit amongst some of the world’s oldest exhibits!
The Lowry is a landmark venue with easily identifiable modern architecture at the heart of Salford Quays and MediaCity UK, just next door to Manchester. A diverse mix of spaces are available for hire from small studios with panoramic views to the mighty Lyric Theatre which can hold up to 1,730 people. Definitely wow factor and a very artistic feel throughout.
Another great venue owned by TROF, this quirky bar/club can be hired out for gigs and private events. This cool space is a great venue for informal networking for up to 80 people or event dinners for groups of 50 or less. Decorated in an industrial-chic finish with a beautiful curved wood-panel ceiling it fits right in to the local environment.
Manchester Central is at the top of the list when it comes to large-scale corporate functions in Manchester. Once upon a time a train station, the iconic clock and vaulted arches offer real character as well as great flexibility of space. The mix of 1800m² exhibition space, 1200 capacity dining room and 10,000m² column-free Central Hall can be a canvas for all needs.
You’ve never seen a venue like this before. A fascinating and unique space that is teeming with original features, Victoria Baths is exactly as it sounds – a Victorian swimming pool. A shining example of local history, today the building has been well set up for all manner of occasions and the old pool plays host to everything from weddings and dinners to swimming and cinemas.
