Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to?
So many great places…a life changing experience for me was trekking in Nepal and Tibet.
What would be your specialist subject on Mastermind?
The 214 Wainwright summits of the Lake District – I completed walking them all last year!
What’s your favourite sport to watch or play?
Football – I’m a Blackburn Rovers season ticket holder – so it’s a rollercoaster ride!
What’s the best soundtrack to a long car journey?
My own eclectic playlist – very likely to feature Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer and other great rock music. Radio One? No thanks….
Sunday brunch or Sunday roast?
Sunday brunch…some fresh coffee, eggs benedict, the Sunday papers…and the edge of a hangover from the night before.
Which bit of event tech are you most excited by?
Having grown up in an analogue world, everything’s exciting to me! What used to take hours can now be done in minutes and some things that are happening were simply unimaginable when we started HGA 30 years ago.
What question to you get asked most often in your job?
Conferences are a nightmare - How do you cope with the stress? You must be so laid back!
Who is the funniest person at HGA?
Ian Austin thinks he is, but Janet has him beaten by miles…
